“11/08/20” of “11/08/2004”. Both alternatives will be returned, but the better one

will be assigned to the field.

Regions

By default, locators will operate on the entire page for every page in a document. To

speed up processing, you can define regions that restrict the locator to portions of a

page or to certain pages. This makes sense if you know, for example, that an item will

always appear at the bottom of the first page.

This is done in the Regions tab for those locators that support regions.

X To insert a region for a locator method

1 Select Show Extraction Design from the Mode toolbar.

2 Select a class that has locators, or add them as necessary.

3 Right-click a locator associated with the Format Locator (or some other locator

that supports regions) and select Locator Properties from the context menu.

4 Select the Regions tab. (Recall that this does not apply to every type of

locator.)
